Brad McMillan

I practiced law for ten years in central Illinois, serving as a senior staff attorney for an Illinois Supreme Court Justice, serving as an associate attorney for the largest downstate law firm, and becoming a partner in my own law firm.


I served as District Chief of Staff for Congressman Ray LaHood for ten years.


I came to Bradley in 2007 to become the inaugural Executive Director of IPL and in 2015 I additionally became the Coordinator for NPL. I also serve as the point person for the President for government relations at the federal, state, and local levels.

Carl Anderson

Carl Anderson directs the Music Business and Music and Entertainment Industry programs at Bradley University and has a Bachelors degree in Business Finance from Bradley. Mr. Anderson spent 28 years in private industry in the music products industry managing one of the largest music retailers in the country.  He has recently authored a book entitled “The Music Products Industry: A Textbook for Music Business Students”. Mr. Anderson is a commercial trombone player in the Central Illinois area, specializing in traditional jazz from the 20’s and 30’s. He has performed with many jazz groups including the Lawrence Welk All-Stars, the Harry James Orchestra, and the Temptations.

Daniel Moon

A first-generation college student, Dr. Moon received a B.A. in Biology with honors from Binghamton University in New York, and a M.S. in Zoology and Ph.D. in Biology from the University of South Florida. An award-winning teacher and scholar, he is widely published in the fields of coastal ecology and environmental biology. His work, which focuses on how environmental factors influence food web structure and dynamics, has been funded by the National Science Foundation, Nature Conservancy, Smithsonian Institution Environmental Research Center, and the US Fish and Wildlife Service. Dr. Moon has taught courses in subjects ranging from introductory environmental science to advanced biostatistical analysis. He is passionate about mentoring students both in and out of the classroom and fostering within them the curiosity, character, and intellectual independence needed to be next generation of leaders and problem solvers.

David Daye ’23

David Daye is an accomplished public speaker and educator, joining the faculty as the Assistant Forensics Coach and instructor for COMM 103. A native of Rockford, Illinois, David is a proud Bradley Alum, graduating with a BA in Political Science and Organizational Communication and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Nonprofit Leadership.

David is a nationally and internationally recognized speaker, having earned 7 national championships and 4 international championships throughout his career. 

In addition to his academic and coaching roles, David is an ordained minister with over a decade of experience preaching to congregations across Illinois. He is excited to bring his knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm to the university, mentoring students and helping them achieve their potential.

Dr. Joshua Lewer

Joshua Lewer has been a member of the Department of Economics faculty at Bradley University since 2007.  He is also research fellow for the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA), Bonn, Germany.  Prior to coming to Bradley, Joshua was the Gene Edwards Professor of Banking at West Texas A&M University.  Outside of academics, he has also been a registered representative with Prudential Investments.

President James Shadid

James E. Shadid became Bradley University’s 13th president on April 1, 2025. Shadid, a 1979 Bradley graduate, served as a United States District Judge for the Central District of Illinois, appointed to that position by U.S. President Barack Obama and unanimously confirmed by the U.S. Senate on March 7, 2011.


Shadid has long given back to his alma mater, both as an adjunct professor and as a former university Trustee. His roots at Bradley run deep, from his own experience as a student and baseball player on the Hilltop to other family members who became Braves, including his late brother George, son Jim, niece Lauren, and more than a dozen other cousins and their children. Shadid and his wife, Jane, are the proud parents of three adult children: Jim, Joe and Maggie.

Sherri Morris

Sherri Morris studies carbon cycling in terrestrial systems. Her research currently examines alterations to carbon and nitrogen dynamics as a consequence of land-use change. Her research program has involved more than 45 undergraduates, plus numerous high school students and K-12 educators, as research interns, providing them opportunities to experience a breadth of scientific approaches and to connect with a diversity of researchers. She serves on the editorial board for two journals and is past president of the Soil Ecology Society. Sherri has also received the Caterpillar Inc. New Faculty Achievement Award for Teaching (October 2005) and for Scholarship (October 2003) and was a member of the NSF sponsored Biology Scholars Program Research Residency in 2008.
